Short Bio
Prof. Dr. Mohammad Emranul Islam completed his BDS from Dhaka Dental College in 2000. After the internship, he successfully completed MS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from BSMMU in 2006.
In addition to attending many seminars, presentations, workshops, and hands-on training courses nationally and internationally, Prof. Dr. Md. Emranul Islam has been actively involved in academia and clinical practice.
He began his journey at City Dental College as an Assistant Professor and Head of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department in 2008.
In 2013, he was promoted to become an Associate Professor and Head of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department and then a Professor at the same institution in 2021. With over 1000 students and followers, both local and international, he has made significant contributions to dental education and practice.
During 2008-2012, he served as the Chief Consultant at Labaid Dental Clinic at Dhanmondi, where he provided expert care to numerous patients. He introduced modern dentistry practices during his tenure there.
Additionally, he worked as a Consultant Dental Surgeon at BUET Health Complex from September 2017 to December 2020.
In 2012, he established his own chamber, “Dental Home,” in Banglamotor, Dhaka, where he continues to provide services.
Furthermore, he volunteers with the Bangladesh Oral Cancer Society, aiming to decrease the prevalence of oral cancer in the country.
Dr. Dilshad Jahan

Short Bio
Dr. Dilshad Jahan earned her BDS degree from Bangladesh Dental College, a prestigious institution, in 2003. Following her internship, she pursued advanced training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at BSMMU’s Dental Faculty for a year.
Her career journey led her to HCDP (Health Care Development Project), a subsidiary of BIRDEM, where she served as a medical officer for three years. Subsequently, she transitioned to BIHS (Bangladesh Institute of Health Sciences), another sister concern of BIRDEM, where she dedicated over three years to treating complex dental cases in diabetic patients.
Furthering her education, Dr. Jahan attained an MPH (Masters in Public Health) from NIPSOM, after which she assumed the role of senior lecturer for postgraduate MPH courses at BUHS (Bangladesh University of Health Sciences), specializing in Community Dentistry. She actively engaged in various national and international training sessions, seminars, and conferences.
In 2017, Dr. Jahan joined City Dental College as an Assistant Professor in the Paediatric Dentistry Department. Recognized for her expertise and dedication, she was promoted to Associate Professor in 2021, where she continues to mentor and inspire students.
Additionally, since 2013, Dr. Jahan has been contributing her expertise as a consultant at Dental Home, a reputable clinic in Dhaka, where she continues to provide her services to date.
Dr. Md. Maruf Hossain Abrar

Dr. Maruf Hossain Abrar embarked on his dental journey when he graduated from Bangladesh Dental College in 2003. His thirst for knowledge and dedication to his craft led him to pursue further training in Orthodontics while simultaneously sharing his expertise as a teacher at Sapporo Dental College.
Dr. Maruf ventured to the United Kingdom to undertake a MSc in Orthodontics. Upon completion of his postgraduate studies, armed with newfound expertise, he returned to his homeland.
In 2010, he came back to Bangladesh and started teaching again at Sapporo Dental College as an Assistant Professor in the Orthodontics Department.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Maruf Hossain Abrar is recognized as a certified implantologist for OSSTEM implants in Bangladesh, further solidifying his standing as a respected figure in the field of dentistry.
Presently, Dr. Maruf dedicates his time and expertise to providing comprehensive orthodontic and general dental care. With a commitment to excellence, he serves patients at two prominent locations in Dhaka. His practice not only caters to the local populace but also extends its services to expatriates.

During my trip to Bangladesh, I visited “Dental Home” for dental treatment. Dr. Emranul Islam, Dr. Dilshad Jahan, and their staff were very professional and helpful from the beginning. They have a very friendly front desk and hygienist.
