Her professional career began at HCDP (Health Care Development Project), a subsidiary of BIRDEM, where she served as a Medical Officer for three years. She later joined BIHS (Bangladesh Institute of Health Sciences), another sister concern of BIRDEM, where she dedicated more than three years to treating complex dental cases, particularly among diabetic patients.

Committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Jahan completed a Master of Public Health (MPH) from NIPSOM. She subsequently served as a Senior Lecturer in Community Dentistry for postgraduate MPH programs at BIHS (Bangladesh University of Health Sciences). Throughout her career, she has actively participated in numerous national and international training programs, seminars, workshops, and professional conferences.

In 2017, Dr. Jahan joined City Dental College & Hospital as an Assistant Professor in the Paediatric Dentistry Department. Recognized for her dedication to patient care, teaching excellence, and academic contributions, she was promoted to Associate Professor in 2021. She continues to mentor and inspire future generations of dental professionals.

Since 2013, Dr. Dilshad Jahan has also been serving as a Consultant at Dental Home, Dhaka, where she provides compassionate, patient-centered dental care and remains committed to improving oral health outcomes for patients of all ages.
